Grab a bargain and save £50 with the Oak floor and headliner bundle! Our beautiful real oak veneered floors and headliners are manufactured in-house from 12mm crown cut oak veneered plywood and are cut on our state of the art CNC to the shape of your van. for best results we recommend the 9mm packers for the floor and a standard 6mm ply headliner base board for the headliner. The floor packers give the floor a much stronger and studier base, this helps with any creaking, bowing and makes fitting much easier. The headliner base allows for a better finish along the join, something sturdy to fix to and give the option to bond the oak headliner with a seamless finish.

Floors

The oak floor must be bonded to prevent the wood warping, although easy in theory, achieving a perfect finish can require a certain level of attention to detail. Firstly, dry fit your floor, they are designed to fit perfectly snug after ply lining and carpet, however if any trimming is required this is the time. Secondly, we recommend filling the van rib gaps with 9mm ply for a better base support, however this is not imperative. When fitting apply an even amount of adhesive onto the ribs, we recommend soudal fix all turbo adhesive. Once the floor has been laid, apply even pressure throughout so the floor is in contact with all the ribs. Finally, the floor must be weighed down with significant weight, ensuring all the floor is in contact with the ribs and bond, this is most important over the join. An alternative to weight can be using acrow props, just ensure you are applying pressure evenly and inline with the van ceiling ribs to avoid damaging any headliners

Headliners

There are various ways to install your headliner, we recommend seeking advise from professional conversion companies to achieve best results. Although there are ways to achieve a seamless finish, for easiest installation we recommend simply screwing. Firstly, we recommend fitting a standard ply headliner as a backing board, the oak headliners are joined vertically in the length, this allows for a base to fit and gives the option to bond. If you chose to fit without a backing boards, cut your 6mm ply strips to length, then countersink screw to the ceiling bracing supports. Next, offer the headliner up, make adjustments and trim if necessary, then simply screw into place. Use small black pan heads; for symmetry screw in the centre of the slats and horizontally across perfectly straight.

  • For VW T5/6 This floor requires a full length WIDE threshold and a side load extra steep door step trim cover. Please see Vanstyle.co.uk
  • Other vans may also require Wide rear and steep side trims.
  • Some floors and headliners may require slight trimming depending on ply-lining, insulation and carpet used.
